San Antonio Brush & Bulky Pickup: Rules, Limits and Drop-Off Centers

San Antonio collects brush and bulky items at the curb twice a year per address, with piles capped at 8 cubic yards and due by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your collection week. This guide covers what's accepted and refused, how to get an extra pickup, the four free drop-off centers and the hazardous-waste site — every fact checked against the City's own pages on October 1, 2026.

The short version

  • Frequency: twice a year per address, curbside.
  • Limit: 8 cubic yards, within 8 feet of the curb.
  • Deadline: ready by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your collection week (door hanger arrives 7–10 days ahead).
  • Extra pickups: priced by pile size — 3-1-1 or 210-207-6000.
  • Free drop-off: four bulky-waste centers for residents who pay the Environmental Fee.

How the curbside program works

Curbside brush and bulky collection is provided twice for each per year. Residents find an estimated timeframe with the City's Find My Collection Day tool, and customers are notified of their collection week 7–10 days before by a door hanger. The door-hanger date is when to set out materials, not the actual collection day — pickup can take up to a week. Your pile should be ready no later than 7 a.m. on the Monday of your collection week, no more than eight cubic yards and within eight feet of the curb, even if garbage service is in the alley.

When the City's programs don't fit

The refused lists above — construction debris, concrete, soil, glass, roofing — and the once-every-six-months timing are why people call a hauler. We handle construction debris, dirt, furniture, appliances and brush on your schedule. Pricing starts at $95 — see how it works.
