How San Antonio's bulk pickup works
The City of San Antonio collects brush and bulky items at the curb twice a year per address. A door hanger tells you your collection week 7–10 days ahead, and the pile must be out by 7 a.m. on the Monday of that week — no more than 8 cubic yards, within 8 feet of the curb. Outside that window you can request an out-of-cycle collection (priced by pile size, with free estimates) through 3-1-1 or 210-207-6000.
Accepted: barbecue grills, small pieces of carpet, up to six car tires without rims, fencing, furniture, large appliances, mattresses, up to three TVs and water heaters. Refused: brush and yard waste in the bulky pile, concrete, construction and demolition material, glass and mirrors, household hazardous waste, roofing, and soil and rocks.
