What we take
- Mattresses of every size — twin through king, foam, spring, hybrid and pillow-top
- Box springs, foundations, bed frames, headboards and footboards
- Futons, sleeper sofas, mattress toppers and memory-foam pads
- The rest of the room, if you're clearing it — nightstands, dressers, bookcases
Tell us when you book if a mattress is wet, soiled or has had bed bugs, so the crew can wrap it properly and we can quote it correctly.
Why people call us instead of waiting for city pickup
San Antonio does accept mattresses in its curbside bulky program — but only on your collection week. The City of San Antonio collects brush and bulky items at the curb twice a year per address. A door hanger tells you your collection week 7–10 days ahead, and the pile must be out by 7 a.m. on the Monday of that week — no more than 8 cubic yards, within 8 feet of the curb. Outside that window you can request an out-of-cycle collection (priced by pile size, with free estimates) through 3-1-1 or 210-207-6000.
Suburbs run on their own calendars: Helotes collects bulk in even-numbered months by zone, Universal City weekly, and Windcrest on a fall schedule for residents only. If the mattress is in the way this week, or you're moving out, listing a house or clearing a rental, waiting isn't realistic. See how the rules differ across the county on our Bexar County service area page.
Dropping it off yourself
San Antonio residents can haul a mattress to one of the City's four bulky-waste centers for free — you'll need a truck, a recent CPS Energy bill showing the Environmental Fee, and a photo ID. Bulky loads are limited to four cubic yards, and the centers refuse mattresses with blood stains or bed bugs. The centers are open Tuesday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.–noon.
If you'd rather not borrow a truck, load, drive and unload, that's the job we do.
How our mattress pickup works
- Call or text (210) 218-5570, or send the quote form with a photo and your ZIP code.
- We confirm the price before anything is loaded — starting at $95 for a single item; several pieces are priced by the space they take in the trailer.
- The crew carries everything out, including down stairs, and hauls it away.
Where your mattress goes
Mattresses go to licensed disposal and recycling facilities — never to a vacant lot or roadside.
What it costs
| Size | Starting at | Typical job |
|---|---|---|
| Single Item | from $95 | One large item — curbside or in-home pickup, sweep-up included. |
| Half Trailer | from $345 | Up to half of our 16′ × 7′ × 4′ dump trailer. The usual choice for garage, room and furniture cleanouts. |
| Full Trailer | from $595 | A full trailer load (about 448 cubic feet) — construction debris, estate and property cleanouts. |
Final price depends on volume. You'll always get a clear quote before we start — no hidden fees.
Frequently asked questions
How much does mattress removal cost in San Antonio?
Junk Removal SA's pricing starts at $95 for a single item. Several pieces — say a mattress, box spring and frame — are priced by the space they take in our 16′ × 7′ × 4′ trailer, and we confirm the price before we start.
Will the City of San Antonio pick up my old mattress?
Yes — mattresses are on the City's accepted list for curbside bulky collection, which happens twice a year per address. Your week is shown on a door hanger 7–10 days ahead and the pile must be out by 7 a.m. Monday. Between cycles, you can request a priced out-of-cycle pickup or use a drop-off center.
Can you pick up a mattress today?
Same-day pickup is available when our schedule allows — call or text (210) 218-5570 early in the day and we'll tell you what's open.
Do you take box springs and bed frames too?
Yes. Box springs, foundations, frames, headboards and futons all go in the same load.
