The refrigerant rule that sends people to a hauler
Anything that cools — refrigerators, freezers, window A/C units — contains refrigerant, and several Bexar County cities won't collect it at the curb unless it has been handled first:
- Helotes takes Freon-free refrigerators only; refrigerators containing Freon are refused.
- Universal City requires the Freon removed and the certification attached before the appliance goes to the curb.
- Windcrest refuses appliances that still contain refrigerant.
The City of San Antonio lists large appliances and water heaters as accepted in its twice-yearly curbside bulky program (and large appliances at its drop-off centers). Tell us which appliance you have when you book and we'll plan the haul around it. Rules are summarized on our Bexar County page.
Water heaters, washers and dryers
These are the jobs people regret trying alone: a water heater is awkward and heavy even when it's drained, and a washer or dryer has to come down stairs or out of a tight utility closet. We carry it out and haul it away. If you're replacing an appliance and the store won't take the old one, that's an easy single-item call.
How it works
- Call or text with the appliance type and where it sits (garage, upstairs, backyard).
- We quote it first — $95 and up for one appliance; several appliances or a full cleanout are priced by trailer space.
- The crew removes it and leaves the space clear.
What it costs
| Size | Starting at | Typical job |
|---|---|---|
| Single Item | from $95 | One large item — curbside or in-home pickup, sweep-up included. |
| Half Trailer | from $345 | Up to half of our 16′ × 7′ × 4′ dump trailer. The usual choice for garage, room and furniture cleanouts. |
| Full Trailer | from $595 | A full trailer load (about 448 cubic feet) — construction debris, estate and property cleanouts. |
Final price depends on volume. You'll always get a clear quote before we start — no hidden fees.
